Black and White
Art is often perceived in its flamboyant use of colour but there are countless examples of powerful and visually arresting works that are simply black and white. For Art in the City BANK plans to present a special curatorial project by providing a selection of artworks that are entirely black and white. Black and white emphasizes simplicity, minimalism, and classicism. Not only will the walls floor and artworks be black and white but during the exhibition period all workers will wear black/white attire in a performative display of the wide breadth of the absence of colour.
Bank will also bring the special project of XU Bing, “ Book from the Ground -- Concept Store”. The artist has turned signs into practical consumer objects. All kinds of daily suppliers such as clothes, umbrellas, clocks, cups and jewelries comprise Book From the Ground merchandise. Visitors can shop or browse the consumable “icons” inside a three-dimensional manifestation of the symbol for “store”. This interactive consumer experience once again reminds us of the close relationship between signs and our daily life.

艺术总以绚丽的色彩被人感知着，但其实也有许多夺人眼球并极富感染力的艺术作品仅由简单的黑白两色构成。黑与白代表了朴素，极简和经典的美学元素。在艺术都市展览上BANK将呈现一个特殊的策展计划，通过挑选出来一系列黑白两色的作品来构筑整个展位的基调。除了作品外，展位的空间设计也会以黑白两色构成，与作品共同营造空间的艺术表达力，同时员工也会以黑白两色的着装行为来参与其中，把颜色的有意缺失推向一个更广的纬度。
BANK此次还将呈现徐冰的特别空间项目《地书—概念便利店》，艺术家将《地书》中的平面标示转换成现实中可使用的用具。这里有各种各样生活用品，从衣服、雨伞、杯子到钟表，概念店成为了一个体验标示语言的立体装置，邀请观众在对这些可消费的“标示”的实际购物体验中，感受标示同世界的紧密联系。
